PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stop a calendar display process additionally in a power-saving mode, and to make the calendar display process revert automatically for a transition period into a display mode. SOLUTION: In the display mode, the calendar display process is carried out based on a detecting process executed in a 24-hours detecting section being coupled to a moving pointer. In the case that a state where an input section is operated or a power generating section is not activated, is continued for more than a prescribed period, the transition into the power-saving mode is carried out, and the moving pointer is stopped. In the power-saving mode, a calendar counter for reverting the calendar display process is controlled according to an elapsed time in the power-saving mode, and thereby enabling the calendar display process to revert to the current calendar based on a value in the calendar counter at a reversion time in addition to a reverting operation of the current time. Therefore, the power-saving efficiency is improved by stopping the calendar display process in the power-saving mode, and an actual driving period of a time checking device can be made longer. Furthermore, the need of manually correcting the calendar display is eliminated at the reversion time because the calendar display process revert automatically, and thereby improving ease of use for a user.
