PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that the manufacture of TiO2in which oxygen (O) is substituted for sulfur (S), the so-called S-added TiO2is difficult because the energy necessary for the substitution of O for S is extremely large although it is reported that the S-addition to TiO2is an effective means as a manufacturing method of visible light response type photocatalyst material. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the S-added TiO2photocatalyst material obtained by firing TiS2in an oxygen-containing atmosphere, the firing of TiS2is performed at a temperature of 400 to 800°C in air.
