PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser depilator for beauty that is economical, effective, and safe by suitably controlling a laser beam of a semiconductor laser diode. SOLUTION: The laser depilator has a heat sink 16 provided inside a free end surface of a case 11, a condenser lens 15 installed in an opening of the case 11, a semiconductor laser diode LD arranged at the rear of the condenser lens 15 and having a light power of 5-1,000 mW and a peak wavelength of 600-1,600 nm, a spacer 13 protrusively provided at the opening of the case 11 for keeping a space between the condenser lens and a skin surface, and a skin contact surface 14. A laser beam of the laser diode LD is condensed on the skin contact surface 14 by the condenser lens 15, and the irradiation time of the laser beam of the semiconductor laser diode LD is set within a range of 1-9 seconds, and the laser beam of the laser diode is irradiated on the surface of the skin thereby, the protain of hair papilla and sebaceuos gland is denatured, and the growth of hair is restricted.
