Removal of hydrogen sulphide in the production of sulphur in a two-stage process. Hydrogen sulphide is removed in the production of sulphur in a novel process. When the sulphur is in the liquid state, it is fed through two reactors of similar construction, each fed from the bottom and overflowing from the top. These reactors are covered by a hood so that gas liberated is collected and removed.
