PURPOSE: Provided is a monomer as a novel starting material from which insulating polymers having a low dielectric constant and high heat stability and chemical stability can be produced. CONSTITUTION: The monomer is bis-o-aminophenol represented by formula 1, wherein G is oxygen or sulfur atom; M is a substituent selected from the group consisting of formula (a), wherein each of R1 and R2 independently represents a phenyl, -(CH2)nCH3, -G-(CH2)nCH3, -C(CH3)3, -G-C(CH3)3, -(CF2)nCF3, -C-(CF2)nCF3, -CH(CH3)2, -G-CH(CH3)2, -CF(CF3)2, -C(CF3)3, -N(CH3)2 or -N(CF3)2; T is a divalent radical selected from the group consisting of -C(R1)(R2)-, -C(=O)-, -O-, -S- and -N(R1)-; and n is 0-5.
