PURPOSE: A security method using fingerprint recognition in a mobile communication terminal is provided so that only a user authenticated through the fingerprint recognition uses the mobile communication terminal by installing a scroll type scanner in the mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: If key data are generated, a control unit of a mobile communication terminal executes a user security mode and converts a current mode into the user security mode(S1). The mobile communication terminal discriminates whether fingerprint information is inputted by a user through a scroll type scanner(S2). If fingerprint information is inputted, the mobile communication terminal detects a fingerprint image pattern of inputted fingerprint information. The mobile communication terminal compares registered user fingerprint information with inputted fingerprint information(S3). The mobile communication terminal discriminates whether registered user fingerprint information is identical to inputted fingerprint information(S4). If registered user fingerprint information is identical to the inputted fingerprint information, the mobile communication terminal releases the security of the mobile communication terminal so that the user connects call and retrieves information through the mobile communication terminal(S5).
