PURPOSE: A slip joint of a universal joint is provided to facilitate phase angle-joining assembling and detection of an inferior tooth form by differentiating the height of a pair of tooth forms engaging each other from the height of another tooth form. CONSTITUTION: A slip joint(30) of a universal joint has a hollow tube(40); a shaft(50) one end of which is inserted in the tube; a male spline(80) formed to the outside of the shaft, with plural tooth forms; and a female spline(70) formed to the inside of the tube, with plural tooth forms. A pair of reference tooth forms(90), engaging with height different from the height of another tooth form, are formed to the male spline and the female spline.
