PURPOSE: A remote printing service device through an interlock of different kinds of networks and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to output data using a printer located in a remote place by sharing all printer resources connected to the Internet and a VPN(Virtual Private Network). CONSTITUTION: A web server(21) receives a request of user terminals(11,15) and supplies the result for the user terminals(11,15). A user information managing and authenticating/encoding unit(22) creates profiles according to users, manages user information, and executes an authenticating/encoding function. An available printer list and address managing unit according to users(23) manages resources with respect to remote printers(16,17) registered by a user and matches addresses according to remote printers(16,17). A printer driver installing unit(24) manages drivers according to remote printers(16,17), downloads a driver adapted to a kind of a remote printer and a user terminal operating system to the user terminals(11,15), and manages an installing state. A remote printer state monitoring unit(26) detects the current state of corresponding remote printers(16,17) and informs the state to the user terminals(11,15). A printing request processing unit(27) transmits printing data requested by the user terminals(11,15) to the corresponding remote printers(16,17) using addresses according to remote printers. A database(28) stores information necessary for executing each managing function. In the case that an application program for reading printing data does not exist in the user terminals(11,15), an application program supply managing unit(25) downloads the corresponding program for reading the corresponding printing data.
