COOLING SYSTEM OF REFRIGERATOR AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING OPERATION OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: A cooling system of a refrigerator and a method for controlling operation of the same are provided to improve cooling performance on initial starting of a compressor by securing fluidity of refrigerant in an expansion unit on the initial starting of the compressor. CONSTITUTION: A cooling system includes a compressor(11) compressing refrigerant into high temperature and high pressure gaseous refrigerant; a condenser(12) condensing the refrigerant compressed in the compressor by allowing the refrigerant to exchange heat with outside air; a three-way valve(13) installed on a branched part of a refrigerant tube, and controlled by a control part to switch flowing direction of refrigerant discharged from the condenser; an expansion unit(14) comprising a load corresponding capillary(14a) installed on one of branched tubes branched from the three-way valve to relatively reduce refrigerant load and expanding refrigerant when refrigerant load is rapidly increased on initial starting of the compressor, and a main capillary(14b) installed on the other branched tubes to expand refrigerant introduced as the three-way valve is switched when refrigerant load is reduced; and an evaporator(15) generating chilled air as refrigerant expanded in the expansion unit exchanges heat with air to supply to a freezer compartment and a refrigerator compartment.
