PURPOSE: A method for generating a maximum charge value and a discharge current value of a hybrid electric vehicle battery is provided to use efficiently the hybrid electric vehicle battery and prevent a damage of the hybrid electric vehicle battery by generating the maximum charge value and the discharge current value according to a practical state of the hybrid electric vehicle battery. CONSTITUTION: An internal resistance table for battery charge is loaded into a memory(110). An internal resistance value for each SOC of a battery is produced(120). The internal resistance value is loaded into a charge no-load voltage memory(130). A charge no-load voltage is produced by referring to the SOC of the present battery(140). A temporary chargeable maximum current value for each SOC is calculated(150). A chargeable maximum current value is calculated by using the temporary chargeable maximum current value for each SOC(160).
