The clutch system for a motor vehicle comprises a pressure medium tank (252) which is located at a specified level above potential leakage points (290, 296), and serves to counteract and/or to compensate outflows of pressure medium from the respective section of the hydraulic system. An Independent claim is also included for a hydraulic operating system for the proposed clutch system.
