PURPOSE: A glass melting furnace is provided which reduces the velocity of a moving fluid of molten glass in throats so that the corrosion of the inner wall of the throats could be repressed to minimum. CONSTITUTION: The glass melting furnace comprises: (i) a melter(10) which heats solid glass materials to form liquefied molten glass material; (ii) a refiner(26) which removes impurities from the molten glass materials provided from the melter; and (iii) at least one pair of throats(20) which are separately placed between the melter and the refiner and supply the molten glass material in the melter to the refiner.
