PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PURPOSE: A plasma display panel and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to increase the surface area of a phosphor layer without reducing the volume of a discharge cell of even the high-definition plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION: An electrode is formed on one of a pair of substrates(8) facing each other across a discharge space. A dielectric layer is formed to cover the electrode. A barrier rib(11) is provided on the dielectric layer, wherein the barrier rib is parallel to the electrode. A phosphor layer(12a,12b,12c) is provided to cover a side of the barrier rib and the dielectric layer between the barrier ribs. The phosphor layer further includes at least at a surface thereof exposed to the discharge space, a recessed and projected part having one of width and depth that is more than a maximum particle diameter of a phosphor forming the phosphor layer.
