PURPOSE: An insert tip for metal machining is provided which is capable of being produced at a lower cost by mounting a tip member on an iron based sintered alloy. CONSTITUTION: The insert tip is characterized in that a tip member(14) formed of diamond or cubic boron nitride is mounted on a matrix(10) formed of 95 wt.% or more of iron (Fe) powder as a principal constituent by sintering, wherein the insert tip comprises a matrix(10) which is formed of an iron based sintered alloy, and on which a mounting hole(12) is formed, and a tip member(14) fixed to an upper part of one side of the matrix(10), wherein a manufacturing method of the cutting tool comprises a matrix forming process comprising the steps of preparing mixed powder for forming an iron based sintered alloy matrix(10) and forming a matrix except the tip member(14) using a certain dies; performing sintering process on the matrix(10); a process of fixing the tip member(14) onto the matrix(10); and a process of mounting the tip member(14) on one side surface of the matrix(10) when the matrix(10) is heated by using high frequency brazing method.
