[Also in Division H4] In an arrangement for measuring the time interval between two points in a voltage waveform, the waveform is displayed on a double beam oscilloscope, which provides interlaced traces which are obliquely inclined and carry reference timing pulses to enable the interval to be assessed. The reference timing pulse at the end of each trace produced by one beam is arranged to correspond in time with the reference pulse at the beginning of the following trace produced by the other beam. Pulses from a generator 1 are passed to a divider 2 producing two pulse train outputs at 3 and 4, each corresponding to division by eight and arranged to be equally displaced relative to one another. The pulses are used to energise the line scan generators 5 and 10 to apply scan voltages to the plates 6 and 11 of the double beam tube, and also to control line return extinction circuits 7 and 12 which control the voltages applied to the tube grids. The end of one scan is arranged to slightly overlap in time with the beginning of the next, so that marker pulses at the end and beginning of consecutive scans overlap in time. A trigger circuit 15 controls the picture scan generating circuit 17, which provides two relatively inverted scan output waveforms. These pass to the mixers 23, 24 in each of which the test waveform is mixed with the scan waveform, while delayed pulses from the generator 1 are also added in the mixer 23. The outputs from the mixers are applied to the other pairs of cathode ray tube plates, connected in parallel. An ignition device 20 connected to the tube cathodes is controlled by the picture scan circuit 17.
