Device for determining the eccentricity (e) of a hollow block (1) comprises a measuring unit (2) for measuring a number of wall thickness measurements as the block passes it. The measuring unit is connected to a computer (3) which is suitable for determining the functional progression of the wall thickness as a function of the longitudinal coordinates and the rotational angle of the block from the measured wall thickness data via Fourier transformation. An Independent claim is also included for a process for determining the eccentricity of a hollow block.
