PURPOSE: A power distribution control system of a hybrid electric vehicle using a fuel cell and a controlling method thereof are provided to optimize the distribution of energy by obtaining the required power on the basis of each state of a fuel cell and a battery. CONSTITUTION: A power distribution control system of a hybrid electric vehicle using a fuel battery includes a fuel cell(10), a battery(20), a bidirectional DC/DC converter(30), an inverter(40), a motor(50), and a control portion. The fuel cell(10) is used as a main power source. The battery(20) is used as an auxiliary power source. The bidirectional DC/DC converter(30) is connected to the battery(20) in order to receive or transmit the electric power. The inverter(40) is connected to the fuel cell(10) and the bidirectional DC/DC converter(30). The motor(50) is connected to the inverter(40) in order to convert the electric energy to the kinetic energy. The control portion estimates the required power and controls the power transmission among the fuel cell(10), the battery(20), the bidirectional DC/DC converter(30), and the inverter(40) on the basis of the required power and each state of the fuel cell(10) and the battery(20). The control portion performs selectively one of a fuel cell mode, a battery discharge mode, a battery charge mode, and a regeneration mode on the basis of the required power and each state of the fuel cell(10) and the battery(20).
