PURPOSE: A tray position setting device for a disc drive is provided to precisely insert a tray into a case and precisely secure a door of a front end of the tray to an inlet part of the case, thereby improving the appearance of the disc drive, wherein the tray is not move in the vertical direction, preventing the generation of tray vibration in the vertical direction when the disc drive is in operation. CONSTITUTION: A tray position setting device for a disc drive includes a case(30) in the approximately flat hexagonal shape having an end of which a bottom surface is stepped. The case has a guide(32) for guiding the movement of a tray(34). The tray has a disc securing surface(36) on a top part, a pickup base(37) forming a part of the disc securing surface and moving integrally with the tray, and a door(45) for closing an inlet part of the case when the tray is inserted into the case. Setting protrusions(50) are formed at both sides of a top surface at a front end of the tray, and have guide slant surfaces(52) slanted to the backward of the tray, and contact surfaces(54) at uppermost ends. The case has a setting plate(60) such as a leaf spring having elasticity on a ceiling and formed with elastic holes(62) complimentarily to the setting protrusions. When the setting protrusions contact the setting plate, the elastic holes provide spaces for elastic deformation.
