PURPOSE: A method is provided to lengthen the useful life of the PDP by uniformly forming a coating film on the surface of the phosphor. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step(S72) of dispersing a phosphor powder in a liquid; a step(S73) of injecting a catalyst into the liquid so as to induce a sol-gel reaction of a precursor for forming a silica coating film; a step(S74) of causing a sol-gel reaction of the precursor by injecting the precursor into the liquid where the phosphor power is dispersed; a step(S75) of separating the phosphor having a surface with a silica coating film from the liquid; and a step(S76) of firing the silica coating film and the phosphor. |
