The hollow piston (2) has a base sector (11) from which a ball joint part extends in one axial direction, with a circumferential wall (15) extending round the cavity (9) in the other. The cavity is closed by a closing device (12) at the free end. The piston is made in one piece. The closing device is formed by an inward deformation (16) of the circumferential wall.
