PURPOSE: A method for diagnosing fault intervals for Internet access services is provided to flexibly control the operations of a test driver according to the network configuration of an Internet access service in order to minimize a modification in fault diagnosis procedures when the network configuration is changed. CONSTITUTION: If fault diagnosis for a specific subscriber is requested from a fault module, a process control part requests a service classifier to analyze the network configuration type for the Internet access service being provided to the subscriber(S10). The service classifier obtains the network configuration information of the subscriber's Internet access service from a configuration management system, analyzes the network configuration type, and transmits a service classification result to the process control part(S12). Searching a process definition part for a process definition for the service classification result, the process control part judges whether 'next test' is defined as 'test end'(S14,S16). If the 'next test' of the process definition part is not defined as 'test end', the process control part calls a test driver defined for 'next state' and makes the test driver execute fault diagnosis for an associated interval(S18).
