METHOD FOR AVOIDING OVERCHARGE AND DEEP DISCHARGE OF BATTERY

PURPOSE: A method for avoiding overcharge and deep discharge of a battery is provided to prevent the overcharge and the deep discharge by using a dynamic internal resistance. CONSTITUTION: An SOC(State Of Charge) of a battery is compared to a block A as the remaining capacity(110). A charging state of the battery is checked if the SOC of the battery is not within the block A(120). A variation of charging current is compared to a reference value if the battery is charged(130). An internal resistance, a voltage, and an SOC value are calculated if the variation of charging current is satisfied(140). A variation of discharging current is compared to the reference value if the battery is discharged(150-170). A comparison period of the SOC of the discharging period and the SOC of the discharging period is checked(180). An absolute value of a difference value between the SOC of the discharging period and the SOC of the discharging period is compared to a permissible value of the SOC if the comparison period of the SOC of the discharging period and the SOC of the discharging period is satisfied(190). An average value of the SOC is obtained if the absolute value is satisfied(200). The average value of the SOC is compared to 50 percent of the SOC(210). The average value of the SOC is compared to a real value of the SOC(210) if the average value of the SOC is less than 50 percent of the SOC(220). The real value of the SOC is decided as 25 percent of the SOC(230).
