PURPOSE: To perform precise setting of a fixation target in the case of changing the use of a photographing apparatus to photograph the eyeground. CONSTITUTION: A photographer selects either ophthalmology or medical checkup of adult diseases at a step S1, observes an anterior eye part at S2, and advances to eyeground observation at S3. When ophthalmology is selected at S4, the photographer advances to S5 and presents the fixation target stored in a use-specific fixation target setting storage means. When the medical checkup of adult diseases is selected, the photographer advances to S6 and presents the fixation target stored in the use-specific fixation target setting storage means to guide an eye to be tested. When ophthalmology is selected and a fixation target moving operation switch is operated at S7, an opening part of a liquid crystal display means is moved at S8. Since a presenting position of the fixation target is fixed when the medical checkup of adult diseases is selected, the operation of moving the fixation target is made to be ineffective. Subsequently, at S9, the eyeground is photographed by operating a photographing switch.
