A method of making a moulded component using LPSMC

A method of making a moulded component for example a door comprises placing a core 1 figures 1 and 2 of slab foam material into one half of a mould 3 figures 1 and 2 with LPSMC. Closing the mould and applying pressure and heat to render the LPSMC fluid to at least partially envelop the core and thereby produce a LPSMC coated product component. The LPSMC coated product component has a cavity 6 figures 1 and 2 which extends across the width thereof and which has at least a portion which is inboard of the outer edge of the component, such that the LPSMC flows into the cavity to form a bridge between the sides of the component. The foam material may have a portion with a density in excess of 250 kgm<-3>. The core may comprise two slabs of material with a density of 250 kgm<-3> either side of a lower density core material. Also included is a door at least partially enveloped by LPSMC wherein at least a portion of the foam core has a density in excess of 250 kgm<-3> and a door consisting of a foam core at least partially enveloped byLPSMC having contours on at least one face.
