PURPOSE: A dye-containing curable composition, a color filter using the composition and its preparation method are provided, to obtain a high sensitivity, excellent curability, solvent resistance at image part and heat resistance and a wide development latitude. CONSTITUTION: The dye-containing curable composition comprises a binder; and an organic solvent-soluble dye represented by Dye·Xn, wherein Dye is an acidic dye moiety having at least one sulfonic acid group or carboxylic acid group; X is a moiety derived from at least one of a nitrogen-containing compound of a molecular weight of 250 or less containing a carbon atom, a hydrogen atom and at least two nitrogen atoms and an aliphatic cyclic amine compound of a molecular weight of 250 or less containing a carbon atom, a hydrogen atom and at least one nitrogen atom; and 0<n<=5. The method comprises the steps of coating the composition on a support; exposing it by using a mask; and developing it to form a pattern, thereby obtaining a color filter.
