PURPOSE: Provided are sewage and wastewater treatment method and apparatus using a deep biofilm process and a deep diffused air flotation (DAF) process to reduce installation area of a wastewater treatment system by burying a reactor under the ground. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of preparing a reactor deep in depth, filling biofilm media in the reactor, and injecting chemicals for coagulation, pressurized water for bubble generation and wastewater to be treated into the bottom of the reactor, thereby treating the wastewater biologically by the media contact and physicochemically by diffused air flotation, wherein the pressurized water injection is performed and stopped alternatively at regular intervals to make the reactor in an aerobic condition and an anoxic condition, alternatively. The apparatus comprises a reactor(10) with an outer vessel which is deep in depth and an inner vessel, the inner vessel installed in the center of the outer vessel and extending to the bottom of the outer vessel, the inner vessel having a downward inlet(11) at an upper end thereof and an upward outlet(11a) at a lower end thereof so that pressurized water and wastewater to be treated are downwardly introduced to the inner vessel through the inlet(11) and rising in the outer vessel after passing out the outlet(11a) of the inner vessel, biofilm media(12) filled in the inner vessel, and a highly pressurized water diffuser(20) installed in the outer vessel at a lower part thereof.
