METHOD FOR RETRIEVING POSITION INFORMATION FOR PUBLIC WIRELESS LAN SERVICE

PURPOSE: A method for retrieving position information for a public wireless LAN(Local Area Network) service is provided to search a hotspot position for which a user wishes by retrieving stored hotspot position information when a terminal is in a communication connection state. CONSTITUTION: A terminal attempts communication connection(200). If the communication connection is achieved, the terminal transmits version information about current position information to a hotspot position information server(202). The terminal receives and updates newly registered or changed hotspot position information from the hotspot position information server(204,206). If it is impossible for communication connection(208), the terminal provides previously stored hotspot position information(210).
