摘要 <p>PURPOSE: To determine a clutch contact point to surely obtain low torque during initial clutch connection in an automatic clutch mechanism for connecting an engine and a transmission input shaft. CONSTITUTION: When a transmission 14 is put in a neutral position, a clutch of a clutch mechanism 16 is moved at a fixed speed from a disconnect position to the connect position by a clutch operating mechanism 20. When the input shaft speed of the transmission 14 detected by an input shaft speed sensor 28 reaches a first and a second designated speeds NT1 , NT2 , the first and second positions PT1 , PT2 of the clutch are respectively detected by a clutch position sensor 26. By a computer 22, the distance between the first and the second positions PT1 , PT2 is multiplied by the square root of the ratio (NT1 /NT2 ) of the first designated speed NT1 to the second designated speed NT2 to calculate an offset. The offset is subtracted from the first position PT1 to determine the clutch contact point position.</p>
