A dispersion electroluminescence device having a basic constitution wherein a back face sheet, a back-face side light-transmitting electrode, a luminescent layer with electroluminescence light-emitting particles dispersed in a dielectric phase, a front-face side light-transmitting electrode, and a light-transmitting front face protecting film are stacked in this order. The utilization of the constitution of the electroluminescence device the back face sheet of which has the performance of light scattering reflection and the light emitting layer of which shows the performance of light scattering provides an electroluminescence (EL) device enhanced in the efficiency of extracting emitted light outside. <IMAGE>
