The motor has a multipole stator (12) positioned about a rotor (2) and having a set of adjacent stator poles (5) extending in a direction away from the stator and towards the rotor. An insulating sleeve (6) positioned between the rotor and the stator has a set of projections (6) radially arranged about the rotor such that each projection extends in a direction away from the rotor and in between adjacent stator poles.
