Method for calibration of a motor vehicle optical sensor system using a calibration object, whereby a value, representative of the alignment of the calibration object and the optical sensor system, is determined using at least one position reference sensor, the at least one position reference sensor detects at least a part of the calibration object and the representative value is used for calibration. An Independent claim is made for a device for calibration of a motor vehicle optical sensor system.
