摘要 A printer comprises electrophotographic image-forming modules with imaging subsystems for making toner images of single color. The toner images of single color are used for non-thermally-assisted electrostatic transfer to receiver sheet. A toner image of single color is formed in module for transfer to receiver sheets. The receiver sheet moved through modules to form unfused color print. A printer comprises electrophotographic image-forming modules (591b, 591C, 591M, 591Y). Each image-forming module includes imaging subsystems for making toner images of single color. The toner images of single color are used for non-thermally-assisted electrostatic transfer to the receiver sheet. A toner image of single color is formed in the module for transfer to the receiver sheets. The receiver sheet moves through the modules to form an unfused color print. The unfused color print moves through a fusing station included in the printer to form a fused color print. The image quality of the fused color print is at least as high as a nominal image quality. The image quality of the fused color print is produced by non-operational co-optimization of fusing station-parameters and imaging subsystem parameters. The non-operation co-optimization enables printing on types of the transferee surface. The receiver sheet is made of paper, polymeric materials, coatings, fibers, reinforcing materials, fabrics, and/or cloth. The polymeric materials include rubbers and plastics. The coating includes clay and polymer coatings. The fibers include polymer and textile fibers. The receiver sheet has transferred surface included in types of transferee surface. The types of transferee surface include smooth, rough, textured, patterned, reinforced, and woven surfaces. An Independent claim is included for enabling full-color prints on receiver sheet with types of transferee surfaces using modular printer comprising charging a primary imaging mechanism to an optimized transferee-surface-dependent potential, exposing a photoconductive primary imaging device, toning with surface treated polymeric toner particles, transferring a single-color toner image from photoconductive primary imaging mechanism to intermediate transfer mechanism, electrostatically transferring without thermal assist the single-color toner image from intermediate transfer mechanism to a receiver sheet, and fusing the unfused color print to the receiver sheet in the fusing station.
