Stop ring for a piston-cylinder unit

The motor vehicle shock absorber abutment ring assembly has two annular circlips (7,9) each to take piston rod loads in a particular direction. The circlips have engagement faces for each abutment ring (3,5). Belleveille washers (15) or elastomeric rings can be positioned between the abutment rings. The abutment rings can carry elastomeric damping material rings (17,19) with one being thicker than the other dependent on the loads applied.
