Track building machine and method for measuring a track

The railway mainentance machine (1), to check the lie of the rails (12) of a permanent way (4), has a scanner unit (9) with wheel-flange rollers (10) to ride along the permanent way track. The machine frame (2) is fitted with an antenna (14) linked to an antenna center (15) as a satellite receiver (13). A monitor (18) registers the relative position of the antenna center, in relation to the rail scanner, according to the parameters of a lateral track pitch, a lateral shift normal to the longitudinal line of the machine and the vertical distance. A unit (25) computes the shift of the antenna center in relation to a reference point (22) at the scanner.
