A support for image recording material containing a base paper, both surfaces of which are coated with a polyolefin resin and/or a polyester resin, wherein the base paper contains kraft pulp made from acacia as a component thereof. The base paper preferably contains an anionic polyacrylamide in an amount of 0.05 to 1.5 % by mass and an epoxidized fatty acid amide in an amount of 0.05 to 0.8 % by mass.
