The Neisseria meningiditis genes (A) dxr (1-deoxy- D-xylulose-5-phosphate reductoisomerase); galU (UTP-glucose-1-phosphate uridyltransferase) and, for serotype B, hisC (histidinol-phosphate aminotransferase) are new. An independent claim is also included for use of genes (B), selected by an exhaustive detection process for genes that, in bacterial pathogens, express a sought-after phenotype, also of (A), as antipathogenicity targets. |
