PURPOSE: A structure and a method for preventing heat stress of shroud nozzle support are provided to reduce manufacturing cost of slab by minimizing heat stress of the shroud nozzle support for supporting shroud nozzle during continuous casting operation, thereby extending service life of the shroud nozzle support. CONSTITUTION: In a shroud nozzle support used in continuous casting process for manufacturing molten steel into casting slab, the structure for preventing heat stress of the shroud nozzle support is characterized in that a resting projection(52) is formed on an inner part of the shroud nozzle support(50) so that head part of nozzle is rested on the resting projection(52), two supporting shafts(51a,51b) are formed on an outer surface of the shroud nozzle support(50), and upper and lower valleys are formed on a lower part of the supporting shafts(51a,51b), wherein a plurality of porous holes(55) into which inert gas is blown are formed on an upper surface of the shroud nozzle support(50) to prevent second air from flowing in a gap between furnace nozzle and shroud nozzle positioned directly under ladle, and a plurality of porous holes into which inert gas is blown are formed on an upper surface of the resting projection(52) inside the shroud nozzle support(50) to prevent second air from flowing in a gap between the shroud nozzle and shroud nozzle support(50), and wherein an expansion preventing member(72) is installed so that an inflow port of shroud nozzle formed on the shroud nozzle support(50) is not easily expanded by heat stress, two holes(70a,71a) into which the expansion preventing member(72) is inserted are formed on an upper surface the shroud nozzle support(50), two holes(70b,71b) are formed on a front end of both sides of the expansion preventing member(72) equally in such a way that the two holes(70b,71b) correspond to the two holes(70a,71a), and the holes(70a,71a,70b,71b) correspond to each other so as to be connected by bolts(70c,71c).
