An organic waste carbonizing method capable of efficiently performing drying/dry distilling by using a single device; and an organic waste carbonizing device. The method comprises the steps of charging organic waste (12) into a drying/dry distilling vessel (2) through a charging port (13), externally heating the drying/dry distilling vessel (2) as by a burner (5) while forcefully pressure-reducing he drying/dry distilling vessel (2) through an exhaust port (16) by a pressure reducing means such as an ejector, and introducing water vapor and dry-distilled gas from the exhaust port (16) into a water tank for gas treatment, by the pressure reducing means. |
