Each of tapes (50a, 50b, 50c, 50d, 50e, 50f) for a label writer is an elongate tape received in a tape cassette (30) corresponding to the kind of the tape. Each tape for a label writer is wound to form a roll. At least either of a tape mark (60, 61) indicating the kind of the tape and a tape mark (60, 61) indicating the kind of the tape cassette is provided at a position visually discernible from outside the roll. The tape mark is printed or stamped on the tape, or formed by more than one perforation.
