A portable information processor has a main body section (2) comprising an input section (2a) where information is inputted, an open/close member (3) provided openably/closably with respect to this main body section (2) and comprising a display section (3a) where various items of information are displayed, a rotary mechanism (5) which couples this open/close member (3) rotatably with the main body section (2), and a support member (9) which supports the main body section (2) so that its rotary mechanism side can swing with respect to the horizontal plane. Between the rotary mechanism (5) and the support member (9) a tilt mechanism is provided to lift the rotary mechanism side of the main body section (2) from the horizontal plane after the open/close member (3) rotates by a predetermined angle with respect to the main body section (2).
