PURPOSE: An umbrella is provided to prevent the shoulders from getting wet when two persons use one umbrella by spreading the umbrella wide. CONSTITUTION: The umbrella is provided with a pair of laterally developable auxiliary poles(4) formed on the upper ends of a pole(1) serving as a hand grip and is provided with a plurality of radially developable umbrella ribs(7) and a waterproof cloth(10) supported by these umbrella ribs(7) formed on the upper ends of the auxiliary poles(4). Second sleeves(5) connectable to the corresponding umbrella ribs(7) and rib supports(9) are provided at the auxiliary poles(4). First sleeves(2) connectable to the second sleeves(5) and sleeve connectors(6) are provided at the pole(1). When the first sleeves(2) are pushed up, the second sleeves(5) are moved in conjunction to thereby develop the umbrella ribs(7) and the waterproof cloth(10).
