PURPOSE: Impact absorbing structure of a pillar trim for a vehicle is provided to absorb shock efficiently in bumping the head of a passenger into the pillar at a side collision or overturn by embedding the shock absorbing member in the pillar, and to minimize injury of the passenger by restricting the side outer panel, the inner upper pillar and the outer upper reinforcement from being protruded inward. CONSTITUTION: An inner upper pillar(3) is welded into the inside of a side outer panel(2), and an outer upper reinforcement(4) is welded between the side outer panel and the inner upper pillar. A front pillar trim is installed inside the inner upper pillar close to a vehicle room. A space part is formed between the inner upper pillar and the front pillar trim, and a shock absorbing member is embedded in the space part. Support brackets(120,130) are mounted in the inner upper pillar to support the shock absorbing member.
