METHOD FOR TEMPORALLY DELETING AND RESTORING FILES OF REWRITABLE RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE: A method for temporarily deleting and restoring a file of a rewritable recording medium is provided to additionally record ID information to a file recorder for temporarily deleting files and restoring the temporarily deleted files, thereby recovering the erroneously deleted play list files together with clip files and corresponding clip information. CONSTITUTION: A method for temporarily deleting and restoring a file of a writable recording medium includes the steps of determining whether a play list is a real play list or a virtual play list as the play list is requested to be deleted by a user(S10-S11), searching a file record corresponding to the real play list in the case of the real one(S12), and setting attribute information of the searched file record to '1'(bit 7) for temporal deletion(S13). A modification time information of the file record is recorded as the temporarily deleted time(S14). File records of the clip file and clip information file related to the real play list are respectively searched(S15). Attribute information of the searched file records is set to '1'(bit 7) representing the temporal deletion(S16) and the modification time information of the file records are recorded as the temporal deletion time(S17). If the temporarily deleted real play list is corresponding to partial deletion(S18), clip information contents for non-deleted parts are newly constructed and recorded as clip files in a new disc recording area(S19). File records corresponding to the clip file and the clip information file are additionally recorded to a file table(S20). If the requested play list is the virtual play list, a corresponding file record is searched from the file table(S30) and the attribute information of the searched file record is set to '1'(S31). The modification time of the file record is recorded as the temporal deletion time(S32).
