PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for confirming call connection in a portable phone are provided to offer call connection confirmation information to a caller and display it through the caller's terminal in case that a traffic channel is made. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for confirming call connection in a portable phone comprises a speaker(101), a microphone(102), an RF transceiver part(103), an MSM(Mobile Station Modem)(104), an LCD part(105), a key input part(106), and a call connection display part(107). The speaker(101) outputs a voice signal, outputted from the MSM(104), in voice so that a user can listen to. The microphone(102) outputs a voice, inputted from the user, to the MSM(104). The RF transceiver part(103), comprising an antenna, transmits and receives radio signals through a base station. The MSM(104) processes a signal inputted from the RF transceiver part(103) and outputs a voice signal to the microphone(102). The LCD part(105) displays the present state and a connection state in the form of a short message. The key input part(106), comprising a mode setup key, inputs signals to operate the terminal to the MSM(104) according to the user's manipulation. The call connection display part(107) receives a call connection signal from the MSM(104) and displays it as a signal that the user can recognize.
