A high-pressure connector (48) for a fuel injection system including an elongated body (64) having an inlet (66) that is in fluid communication with a source of high-pressure fuel, an outlet (68) in fluid communication with the inlet (54) of a fuel injector (34) and a fuel passage (70) extending therebetween. A filter (72) is supported within the fuel passage (70) and acts to filter particulates from the high-pressure fuel. A fuel flow limiter (74) is supported within the fuel passage (70) and is operable to provide predetermined quantities of fuel to pass between the inlet (66) and the outlet (68) at each injection event during normal operation of the combustion chamber (18) serviced by the injector (34) and to automatically terminate fuel flow through the connector (98) in the event of a malfunction at the combustion chamber (18).
