PURPOSE: Provided are a deodorant and method for removing bad smell of wastes, particularly food waste, having an excellent deodorizing effect without using a separate deodorizing device. CONSTITUTION: The deodorant for waste comprises pozzolana powder pulverized with a particle size of 100 to 400 mesh. The pozzolana powder is mixed with the wastes when wastes are put into the waste container or bag so that the bad smell of wastes is removed.
