<p>Wear and corrosion-resistant layer Useful for structural elements subject to frictional wear, the layer can be prepared by the application of metal carbides or oxides, e.g. tungsten carbide, aluminium oxide, and zirconium oxide, by plasma spraying them onto an adhesive layer. The adhesive foundation is prepared by degreasing, sand-blasting and blowing with pressurised air. The grain sizes of the carbides or oxides used range from 30 - 90 um, and the component is sprayed at a max. temp. of 150 degrees C. at a distance of 100 - 120 mm.</p> |
