PURPOSE: A dual-band RF(Radio Frequency) identification apparatus is provided to supply magnetic low-frequency energy to a tag for driving power and to transmit electromagnetic microwaves for the data of the tag and a reader. CONSTITUTION: A dual-band RF identification apparatus consists of a reader(300) and a tag(350). The reader(300) comprises a loop antenna(301), a transmitting microstrip patch antenna(303), a receiving microstrip patch antenna(305), and a terminal(307). The loop antenna(301) transmits magnetic energy to the tag(350). The transmitting microstrip patch antenna(303) transmits certain data to the tag(350). The receiving microstrip patch antenna(305) receives response data from the tag(350). The terminal(307) supplies the magnetic energy that the loop antenna(301) transmits to the tag(350), provides certain data to the transmitting microstrip patch antenna(303) so that the data can be delivered to the tag(350), and receives the response data received to the receiving microstrip patch antenna(305) from the tag(350). The terminal(307) comprises an oscillator(309). The oscillator(309) generates a low-frequency oscillation signal of 125KHz or 133KHz and supplies the generated oscillation signal to the loop antenna(301) so that the loop antenna(301) can transmit magnetic energy.
