The transmitter also comprises an electronic system (3) which converts the electric variable into a measuring signal, whereby a current output is provided in the form of a signal flow (I) which corresponds to the measuring variable, further comprising a pick-up unit (13) which comprises a magneto-resistive element (15) whereby the resistance thereof is modified according to the magnetic flow (F) produced by the signal current (I).
