The invention relates to telecommunication engineering, in particular to methods and devices for information signal processing. Said invention makes it possible to efficiently suppress wideband polyharmonic noises which corrupt the information signals and to intensify the contrast of a desired information signal by using a method for automatic multichannel gain control. The inventive device comprises a bandpass-filtering unit, a unit for objective function calculation, and a unit for modifying the objective function, a multiplier unit and a frequency component-multiplexing unit. In addition, said device is provided with a spectrum amplitude computer, a mean spectrum storing unit and a signal ratio computer unit.
